Small Claims Court Appeals

Defendants who lose their case in Small Claims Court have the right to appeal the court's decision if they act promptly, usually within thirty days of the decision.

Defendants who appeal their case may be represented by an attorney because appeals are heard in the Superior Court. When a defendant appeals, the plaintiff may also choose to be represented by an attorney.

The lawfirm of Michael T. Chulak & Associates represents plaintiffs and defendants in Small Claims Court appeals. We also prepare clients who want to represent themselves in court.

If you decide to represent yourself in a small claims appeal, we can provide you with a presentation outline or a defense outline, and / or a written brief to present to the court.

Written briefs can be effective because judges rarely make their decision on the spot. They will usually consider the evidence and make a decision within a few days.

Whether you prefer to have our firm represent you in court, or simply provide advice, we are available to assist you.

Please call us for a no cost initial consultation regarding any legal matter.
